Empowering Communities
At The HF Foundation Ltd., we believe in the power of community. Through targeted funding and support for registered charities, we aim to empower individuals and create lasting change in the lives of those we serve.
Our History
Founded in 2019, the HF Foundation Ltd. was established with the vision of giving back to the communities that shaped our lives. Over the years, we have supported Canadian charities deliver essential programs and services.
Our Purpose and Objectives
The HF Foundation Ltd. exists to support registered Canadian charities whose charitable work aligns with one or more of the following priority areas:
- Health: Support for medical research, public health initiatives, and programs that improve equitable access to care.
- Education: Support programs promoting access to primary through post-secondary education, literacy enhancement, and curriculum development.
- Women's Rights and Protection: Support initiatives that combat gender-based violence, support reproductive rights, and advance equality for women and girls.
- Pollution Control: Support efforts to combat climate change, reduce pollution, and promote environmental sustainability.
- Animal Protection: Support activities focused on animal welfare, rescue and rehabilitation, and conservation of endangered species.
- Fight poverty: Support activities focused on reducing or eliminating poverty abroad, mainly in third world countries.

Eligibility Criteria
We fund only:
- Organizations that are registered charities in Canada
- Applicants with a valid CRA charity registration number
- Projects that align with our funding priorities
- Organizations with a demonstrated track record of accountability
We do not fund:
- Individuals
- For-profit organizations
- Political or religious advocacy
- International organizations

How To Apply - Step 1: Letter of Inquiry (LOI)
Submit a brief (1–2 page) LOI via info@TheHFFoundation.com including:
- CRA registration number
- Organizational mission
- Project summary & budget
- Amount requested
- Contact info

How to Apply - Step 2: Full Proposal (by invitation only)
If your LOI is shortlisted, we will invite you to submit a detailed proposal with:
- Confirmation of amount requested
- Project timeline
- Budget & financial statements
- Governance overview
- Impact measurement plan

How to Apply - Step 3: Review & Response
We aim to respond to detailed proposals within 6–8 weeks. Funding decisions are made quarterly.
Submission Deadlines
Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, with quarterly deadlines:
March 31 • June 30 • September 30 • December 31

- THE CANADIAN RED CROSS – The Canadian Red Cross helps people and communities in Canada and around the world in times of need and support them in strengthening their resilience.
